4 Things You (Really) Can’t Miss At Berlin Fashion Week

There are two emotions that best sum up Berlin Fashion Week – feeling ridiculously excited about everything that’s going on… and feeling ridiculously overwhelmed about deciding what on earth you’re actually going to see and do.

Luckily, the Collabary team here in Berlin have put our heads together to come up with our three favorite picks from the Fashion Week events that are open to everyone.

1. Somewhere to get inspired

What’s going on…

Seek’s 10th Anniversary exhibition

When & where…

From Tuesday 15 January @ Arena Berlin

What’s it all about…

The famous Seek Berlin show is celebrating its 10th year with an unmissable line up. Handpicking 250 brands that embody Seek’s spirit of individuality, sustainability and reinvention, this is an amazing celebration of visionary street style and culture.

From edgy urban techwear brand Krakatau to super cool Milanese trainer icons Drunknmunky, Seek is an introduction to brands with some remarkable stories to tell – as well as some beautiful fashion to show off.

2. Somewhere to make connections

UNLOCK Style by ZEITmagazin conference

When & where…

1pm, Thursday 17 January @ Kraftwerk Berlin

What’s it all about…

This new conference looks set to be buzzing with some of the brightest and most successful voices in the fashion, creative and media industries – and is therefore the perfect place for a content creator to discover new ideas and make new connections.

From Professor Frances Corner (Head of the London College of Fashion) to top creative directors like Gherado Felloni (from luxury Parisian brand Maison Roger Vivier) the lineup is one of the most impressive you’ll find at any major fashion week. Our own personal highlight is going to be hearing from Spanish artist (and all-round creative-crush) Coco Capitán, a regular collaborator with Gucci.

Trust us, if you want to be way ahead of the game in terms of ideas and (hopefully) valuable new friends, you need to check this one out.

3. Somewhere to shop, shop, shop

What’s going on…

ProjektGalerie sale

When & where…

From Wednesday 16 January @ Charisschwarz Galerie

What’s it all about…

There’s no way that experiencing all this amazing fashion inspiration isn’t going to make you thirsty for shopping. So, what could be better than a combination between amazing designer fashion and some pretty irresistible prices.

That combination is precisely what the legendary ProjektGalerie designer sample sale is all about. And while it may have moved to a new home, it’s still packed with the same sort of incredible independent Berlin-based designers, from some pretty famous names to the latest breakthrough brands.

Twist our arms and we’d have to say we’ll be hunting the rails for anything by avant-grade streetwear geniuses Iamkilogram or maybe some of the gorgeous prints by Raquel Hladky. But that’s just us and, honestly, if you don’t fall in love with something from this sale you’ll probably never shop again.

4. Somewhere to consume consciously

Neonyt – Global Hub for Fashion, Sustainability and Innovation

When & where…

15-17th January 2019 at Kraftwerk, Berlin

What’s it all about…

Change. Fashion. Together. Through collaboration and innovation, sustainability and technology. That is the aim of Neonyt – the global hub for fashion, sustainability and innovation. Incorporated into Berlin Fashion Week and with an international focus, it is the world’s leading event of its kind. Neonyt, is made up of several events bringing together style, business, inspiration, knowledge, fun and community.

Neonyt Fashion Show: One of the highlights will be the Neonyt Fashion Show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin. The editorial fashion show will be showcasing the very best pieces by various national and international fair fashion labels, compiled in curated multi-brand looks. 15th January at 7.30 pm at Ewerk Berlin with live streaming to Kraftwerk Berlin and the Neonyt social media channels.

Prepeek: Another highlight will be the blogger and influencer event Prepeek. Bloggers, Instagrammers and YouTubers receive exclusive access to selected products by the exhibiting fashion labels. The result is one big, curated wardrobe from which they can put together outfits and then have themselves professionally photographed wearing them. Result of the last edition: 300 influencers, 155 photographed outfits, 700 instagram posts and a whole lot of fun.

Of course, these are just four of our personal picks – but the beauty of Berlin Fashion Week is that there are incredible events, shows, experiences and spectacles to be seen around every corner. So, wherever you end up, you’re going to have a special week.
